Amirabdollahian expressed satisfaction with the constructive talks he has had with Japan's Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi, and Katsunobu Katō, the minister of Health, Labor, and Welfare.
“The latest status of bilateral relations, issues related to Afghanistan, the Persian Gulf, and Ukraine, as well as the lifting of sanctions, were the focal points of discussions with high-ranking Japanese officials,” he posted on his personal account on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Monday.
“The friendly relations between the two countries have a long-standing history,” he added.
Amirabdollahian arrived in Tokyo on Sunday evening local time for his official visit to Japan, the first by a top Iranian diplomat since 2019.
